Art theft yet again.

I don't get to post often enough here and I sure as hell don't like to post about this crap. I hate when this stuff happens, and you never really want it to happen to you. Luckey enough it seems harmless but, what did this artist truly learn by painting this image. Surely nothing about painting backgrounds.

Funny thing about this piece is: when I painted it I was studying the work of Jeff Jones' clouds, till I was blue in the face to make it right. I didn't come close; but at least I didn't cheat and paint over Mr. Jones's art.

If you know this individual (Bulat Iraliyev), let him know I am disappointed. All he had to do was ask and explain his reasoning, or better yet; ask for a tutorial or help. I would have gladly shown him how. Now we don't don't get to drink beers together and talk about bad ass bikes and cars. :nohope:

Yeah, some people are clueless, but I think this falls into the same category as plagerism in college - and then claiming that you didn't know something like that wasn't allowed. With some people it's true, but with most they're trying to cheat the system.

I do believe that any image you create is automatically copywrite protected, you don't actually need to file any paperwork or any of that nonsense. Now as far as lawsuits go, lets be realistic.

Agreed, but without copyrightes the "villan" can get a clever lawyer who could find a loophole in the system.

Look on the bright side. He had stolen only the background. Unless of course the orc was a paintover from somewhere else....if that's true then its sad coz the orc's all "wrong".....from an anatomical structural point of view he's "off".

I really wouldn't be bothered too much by it. Yes I agree its ignorant of him, maybe he don't know the IP rules or he's just a kid or whatever....its more funny than infuriating.

damn Mitch, ya gotta love what he did to it...i mean if yer gonna steal someones art, the least you can do is paint something TOTALLY AWESOME on top of it. man that character is soooooo good. i mean id take the angle that you can gain some useful little tidbits out of his revision about anatomy, color, costume design, and just overall mood....;P

Unless I'm mistaken he's a "beastmaster" from frozen throne, and was so powerful when the game came out jokes like this were abundant ...my favourite was "look! they have a gay wrestler commanding their army, run in terror!" Hehehe, gay wrestler thumbing himself !oh snap!
