hey all, i'd like an opinion. i'm a freshman at SVA (computer art). do you have any advice on what not to take or what to take? do you have any opinions of certain teachers or the overall system of the school? have you ever had an art class where the radiator was spurting water out the window? (heh, our drawing class was the coldest room in the entire damn building) ..... anyway, i'd like to hear the experiences you've had at SVA no matter what your major is. Thanks

the only drawing class i took was "high focus" drawing, i took it with rob babboni, he's a good guy and the class helped me alot but alot of people don't like it. i took a painting class for 4 years called painting workshop with steven assael, not sure if he's going to be in the school for long. it's a great setting for painting. history of animation is pretty good and any class taught my keith mayerson and meta janowitz is worth taking, meta teaches humanities..... keith is just a cool guy. if you're an illlustration major, get to know martucci and greisbach, it's a husband and wife team of illustrators who teach a few illustration classes, fantasy illustration etc. sal catalano is also a pretty cool teacher if you ever get to take any of his classes, you should... other than that, i would suggest you check out what the other students are doing, not the crappy ones, stay away from those.....
