Sorry, I wasn't sure what limestone looks like so I did a rusty coloured thing. My tablet is broken so this is done with a mouse. It took about an hour.

When the same forces that carved Ichatachaqa cave threatened to crush it under tons of rock, a huge endevor was taken to remove this "stalactite city" and place it somewhere safe.
painter, umm... 45?

wow!! sketchling, nice job. your use of realistic colors and darks really sells your piece!

here's mine. it took bout 2.5 hrs in phshp.
i'm not sure if the people are really small, or if the cave is really big.
hmmmmm......

Cool subject. i'm late es ever, at least I beat mr hand to it (hint, post something :P).
I had a lot of fun painting this, but most of that gets lost in this small version I think. To view the original size file, click here (http://student-kmt.hku.nl/~floris1/art/dsg49_big.jpg).

Man... I really like the creative stuff going on here... wicked ideas. I may have got the colours to give a feel, but my design doesnt come close to much of whats going on here... really cool. Especially Hand, Mysterian Florin and the wickedly named atomicSushi.

Am inspired to think a bit before I have a go next time. :D

sketchling - Thanks! Love your handling of light and depth (great glints!). I do wish your image was a bit bigger though... I keep my monitor at 1280x960, so yours looks really teeny.

mysterian - Love the form of the rock and water, and the mossy addition. The city itself seems too crisp and gives it a pasted-on feel. Hmm... actually, I think it's that aqua-coloured tube thing it's contained in that does it.

Floris Didden - Beautiful job! Yours is almost too big... can't fit it on my monitor (no rotating anamorphic flat-screen).
Only real crit would be that the perspective of the water spouts seems peculiar to me: The lower spout should be more level with our p.o.v., and I think the upper spout angle might work as-is if the archway atop it had a perspective that was consistent with it.
Love the aesthetic of the buildings... especially the one with the most detail... that's really pretty! I also enjoy the main giant entryway and how blobby it gets at the bottom.

Dreckster - This is different from the line-art approach I've seen you take here... Good sense of depth and cool shapes. Kinda small though ;).

atomicsushi, and goran - Maybe not your best works, but good efforts nonetheless!
