Hi,
here I have a selection of photographs (some of them have been reworked digitally) and I'd like to know which of them you like/don't like and why you like/don't like the pic./s.

Second down on the right; what's that meant to be? It looks like a blurred shoreline.

Ok here is my input :
In this order :

First picture : I like this one, mainly due to the special lightning and the blue haze among the trees.
Second picture: Its ok, but as with your other black and white pictures, its far too grey, its not an appealing shade of black and white.
Third picture : My personal favorite, I love the colors.
Fourth picture : Its ok, just seems like a bad picture composition to me, the clould on the left obscures your picture whitout adding any real value, beyond making it unclear what the picture is about.
Fifth picture : This is a nice one, well chose location. Its a better shade of grey here, but its still *too* grey in my opinion.
Sixth picture : I don't know how it looks in colour, but my guess is it would be better in colour rather than grey, as it is now.
7th picture : Not very appealing, far too grey.
8th picture : Nice colors and lightning, the picture itself is not about anything intresting however.
9th picture : Seems to me like its over-lighted, ugly grey.
10th picture : Nice lightning and colours, great picture.

Hi fellas!
Thanks for your replies. I just came back from a trip to the Netherlands, sorry I wasn't able to send a reply earlier. All of your comments are just what I needed. I just wanted to know if and how the pictures read. Special Thanks to Aeanas for the detailed crits. Infact there isn't any real black & white photograph they all are RGB files wich went through Photoshop. Apparently they don't read to well, which is maybe because of the size of the jpg. Normally the values are slightly blue to violet. I think the only one which really has just greytones in it, was the 2nd. The forth picture which is "unclear" what it's about, is actually about nothing. It's the only picture of these samples which was taken with a digital camera. (All the others I took with a reflex camera -don't know if this is the correct english word for it). I took it at dawn, whithout stopping my walk. It's just schemes, nothing clear, so you're right it obviously doesn't read to well, both of you -Johnnycab and Aeneas- seem to see it this way(but I don't agree that any picture has to be "about" something). Infact Johnnycab is right about the "shoreline". It was a shoreline but I did not really intend to take a picture of it. I just liked the composition of the tree on the right, the lights and the water. Makes me a bit sad that to you, Aeneas it seems to be the opposite :[ , maybe it's just a matter of taste (or maybe I just did a bad picture :bashful: )Cool that you seem to like the colour pictures. I don't do them to often. I'm actually working on a concept design portfolio and of course most works are drawings, photoshop-rendered artwork and sketches. Don't know if I should include some photographs. What do you think?
The last picture, which you all seem to like (thank you too, melvin), is a tree in a great wood in Bretagne/France (they say that Merlin lived there...(uh not in the tree, but in the wood...)). I reworked the colours just slightly, but the light as you see it in the picture was really like this! It really seemed like a magical place to me.
