Hello!
I've recently started a site (www.gamebeep.com) which sells models, textures, and pixel art to game makers. The whole mission of the site is to make resources available to game programmers and teams who don't have the money to hire a full team of 3d modelers, animators, texture artists, musicians and sound effects people. Although the foundation is set, the site still lacks content. I'm looking for pixel art or texture are that would be helpful to game developers.
As an artist, you keep ownership of your works and receive 80% of the profit. The art will be sold at a reasonable price (that you set) to beginner and intermediate game developers.
I have no illusions of grandeur!! I'm just a geeky guy on a mission! The site only pulls in about 60 to 80 unique visitors a day. So far, I've spent every cent I've made on advertising and I hope to keep focused on growing the site. You certainly won't make a living from the sales, but there's nothing to lose, and you might make some spare cash on the side! I'm also contemplating making an "aritst profile" section where you can post details about yourself and perhaps solicit your skills to potential employers.
If you are interested, contact me at clone45-gamebeep1@mailblocks.com and point me in the direction of some sample sprites/tiles/or textures! I can supply you with example contracts for you to review. I'm a low-stress guy, and I'd be happy to cater to anyone's special needs.
Cheers!
