This is a concept piece for a film I'm working on. Painted in PS 6.

oh man this is SWEET. really great. good use of complimetary colors/ cool/warm relationships. the ship is really nice, did you do a 3D rendering? the image bloom around the right hand side wing is a great touch. i would only recommend 3 things.
1) lower the saturation of the cool blue stars in space. they seem to be competeting a little much w/ the thrusters of the ship].
2) i would show more warmth in the reflection of the suns on the ship. you could really great some great focals there by putting the cool shadows of the ships (and even a few more bright blue lights) right butt up against the warm reflections.
3) the sun being pulled into the worm hole or whatever is very unrealistic. I recommend you do some research on solar flares and get a visual feel from that.
otherwise it's great.

I like how refined the brush strokes are, detailed. I like how convincing the spaceship is also.
The composition however, doesn't work too strongly for me, the three most important conponents in this piece feel "pieced" together, instead of working as one. They still feel somewhat separated to me on the picture plane, and the scale of the main subjects lost it's power when the spaceship is so big too, while everything else is big.
The starry sky in the background is also quite distracting, you might want to be careful about the rytheme the other minor stars can create, their placement and effect should be a challenging problem to solve on this piece. Their lights should also be alot dimer compare to the strong light source of the main subject.
The light source on the space ship is barely working.... @_@ I think you might want to work more into that area too. The blues and oranges are contrasting too much they are pulling each other apart on the picture, so it seems.
