I would like to mount some sketches on card and I would really like to use a high quality type of glue.

Can anybody suggest a long life and stable glue that will provide a flush seal without damaging the paper or card and as well as this the glue won't discolour the paper or card or peel.

Secondly, I would like to give the card that authentic aged look i.e. dirt, staining, rips, burns and stamps.

Does anyone have experience creating a flawless aged result with card, also is there a type of heavy card that works best.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are archival quality, acid-free aerosol glues that work fine, but you need to be sure your sketches and your card stock are acid-free as well.

Any distressing you do to paper except digitally is going to compromise the paper's physical integrity, making it far less than flawless. You've already identified the effects. Tea and coffee are acidic, so you may choose to use watercolors or thinned acrylics to make stains (including burn marks, as carbonizing paper fibers hastens breakdown).

Do a Web search for Distressing Tutorials of Distressed Paper Techniques, and try those that you think will be of use to you.
