This is a hellboy piece I'm trying to do, but I stink at coloring so far. Feel free to recommend..P.s my first post here. OH YEAH, can someone reply to this thread and tell me how to insert an avatar into my profile? thanks

Try introducing some color variations to push the recessed areas of the body back. some deeper reds, purples and blues in these areas will help define the figure. Unless you are going for more of a flat comic style coloring.

cool drawing either way!

your on the right track, i think if you decided on
a light sorce it might move a bit smoother. And
more colors, pic a buncha colors you think'll work
in a new swatch palette and go from there. :) and
slap on the layers (overlay at 50-75%) that way
you can hide them if something doesnt look right.
thats my 2 cents :D Good Stuff

I agree with everyone above. In response to your other question, click "user CP" at the top of the page, then "Edit Options." "change avatar" should be at the bottom of the list.

Welcome to conceptart.org, ever since I found this place I am here a couple times a day. Have fun and keep posting.

btw: the missing left leg is sort of strange, you might want to change it...

light source would be the first place to start. You have light coming from everywhere it is just to much with the highlights. Also contrast the reds with green you don't have to put it directly on Hellboy, you can throw it in the background and it will look better than the blue. But really research highlights, core dark, and reflected light and you will be a lot better off.
