In all of man's visions of the end of the humanity, nothing as strange as this was ever imagined... Power lines, phone lines, radio towers and other forms of power and telecommunication transfer multiplying by themselves and moving towards some unknown goal. Some say this strange phenomena dosen't concern humans, and certainly dosen't spell the end.

Ok, so for my first Real (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?p=558499#post558499) DSG post, I went for sort of a 30s/Dust Bowl thing. The scan is a bit weird- I was playing around with the highlight/midtone/shadow settings to make sure the pencil showed up, and its a bit too dark in places and too light in others. Anyone have any suggestions for settings for scanning pencil?

Here is my quick 20-30 min sketch on plain paper, radio towers, power lines , phone poles, and a refueling station for fun. you did say a landscape up down and all around.. and here it is.

In photoshop you can clean up scans really well. First off I would scan it at a photo setting either color or grayscale. Basically not a setting of lineart. That will be most likely a setting in your scanner will ask you for. Then after you have the scan go to in photoshop to
IMAGE --> ADJUSTMENTS --> LEVELS

This is what you should see. I didn't have a scan so I basically put some black in there of what it will look like. You will see that on the left it will have a long gradual nothing and then a spike where it goes up. You want to put the left arrow at the start of that jump.

Next adjust the middle to get rid of the paper texture and light lines.

Then after you have it clean you can easily color over it while keeping the lines by putting a layer over the scan and setting the mode of the layer to multiply.

Naturally, today's topic is about color, so I don't get to try it out, but I'll be set for next time.

There don't seem to be too many comments on this topic, so I'll throw in my 2 cents. Wallasaurus, I like the concept and the tower in the foreground really ties it together. Floris Didden, I think the claustrophobic effect is really neat. And William b. Hand, I like the feeling of height and dizziness a lot. On the downside, some of the others seem a little- stark isn't exactly the word- but they just don't grab the viewer. Maybe more color would help?

Floris didden: I love yours too, and I would love it even more if you coloured it (the sky could be made to look more interesting).
