Planning a Minni workshop. Sweden NEW INFO! THE LIST IS GROWING and 1 TUTOR NOW.

Dates: 21-23 july

it currently 65 rooms for hire, and it will cost 26euro per night for single room there is currently 50 of these avalible, and 21euro per night for dubbleroom there are only 15 double rooms, . if you want to rent a room.
and i would need to know if there are anyone intressted.
ive got acces to large painting halls. and models to a large amout of people attending would not be a problem, and because im in the very beginning of planning this, feel free to tell me what you would want out of this workshop, and if you can assist in any way :D

its preplanned to happend around July 2006. but it doable to move.
i also have acces to professianl tutors, but they may get expensive. but if many attend this would not be any problem,

right on - this is the spirit people!

From what i've learned with the two gatherings i've organised:
-make it cosy.. imho it's nicer to have a small crowd and a good vibe than vice versa
-have a list of possible activities, but prepare to change the shedule last-minute.. if a lot of people stay up all night drawing, they won't be ready and jumping to go mountain climbing at 6am the next morning (yes, i'm referring to myself here)
-keep it as cheap as possible.. most people want to save their cash for the official workshops
- focus on modeldrawing// most people can't afford models in private, so this is an opportunity to take with both hands
-try to get group discounts for everything (obviously any museums or sights, but also ask for discounts when buying art supplies.. i've noticed some art shops find the idea of people getting together to draw very cool, and are willing to drop their prices by 20% even)
-set your date very early - people need to arrange for time off work/holidays and flights are way cheaper when ordered plenty of time in advance..
-check for food allergies/habits/veggie - you don't want people with their heads in buckets all night ;)

This could be interesting, but i need to know where in sweden this will happen. If its not too far south, or too far north i might just pop by. a low price and easy access to stãrkõl are also important factors.

Lifedrawing & hanging around other artist kinda types. I learned a lot in belgium just watching what others do, so maybe just find things to make us draw, like the mini thunderdome we had. The real life open canvas thing was fun & i learned a thing or two.
Just ... you know ... draw a lot.

It's an two hour drive for me living in gothenburg, so I'd be able to attend. But I want to know more about the tutors and all that. As I'm sure many others do here, I set my standards high because of what we see on this site.

Also, I saw that Glenn Vilppu is "touring" Sweden and Denmark in summer next year. So I'm gonna see if there is any possibility to hook up with him. His trip is like $3795, and I would never pay that to travel around in my own "backyard". But perhaps there is a chance I might be able to hop in at some location and participate for a lower fee. So that will be my number one priority for 2006. Vilppu is the man, perhaps you/we could get him to visit on the way? He'll be expensivet tho. :)

Do you have any teaser or portfolios of ppl who would teach? I'd like to see a demo by hurricane if he is coming :). Other than that, I think Hyver is right on spot. Lifedrawing perhaps preceeded by some lectures about anatomy or drawing. Color theory and composition is something I'd like to learn more about.

How good is the public transportation to/from Bengtsfors? If some people fly in (either to Gothenburg or Karlstad, I guess), or come by boat (to Gothenburg?), they'll have to be able to jump on a train or a bus... :)

OK. sorry for the delay of answears.
i have now a painting hall. but the workshop has been moved a little
so the new location is Årjäng. its about 70km north of bengtsfors.
and i also have managed to get rooms for hiring if someone wants to live very near the painting hall, i also have models so we are good to go, atleast almost :D

and a change of dates it will happen it late june or beggining of july, if its okay with you? i not sure i can otherwise.
