Hello

Just installed Photoshop 7.

I set the open settings for various types of files in install wrong. I want Jpegs and Bmps to be viewed with Image Viewer instead of Image ready as I set it. Because I dont want to open photoshop or image ready every time I want to look at a file. Where are the "onboard" settings to set ths correctly, I cannot locate them.

thanks.

you can adjust your program execute setting from within windows (which i assume you are using). In windows XP:

right click on the file (photo.jpg or whatever) a small windows will open, click on OPEN WITH>
then select CHOOSE PROGRAM
from there u can select the program you wish to use, be sure to check the box so that it uses that program for the next time you open these type of files.

this process MAY not work with other version of windows, in case....the long version...
If you're not using XP:

open any folder, then go to:

TOOLS (on the top)
>FOLDER OPTIONS

a small window will pop up.
click on the FILE TYPES tab on the top.

then look for the file format such as .jpg and change the execute setting to the program you want to use.

//hope this helps. peace.
