Hey hey ! Next assignment is up and we're trying to show wieght this time. I've got to animate a character picking up a big hammer, lifting it up and swinging it down onto something.
So these are my keys, the swing itself looks odd because the 1st part needs waaaay more frames.

And I mastered the linetest machine. The animation is under a meg. :D

watch your arcs on the arms. after he picks up the hammer his hands go immediatley to his chest and then up in the air above him, this looks very unnatural. also he needs more anticipation before the swing. drawing 6 needs to be held longer. the swing of the hammer is too slow, i don't feel that this hammer is very heavy. what if the force required to lift this hammer took the character off of his feet and into the air after he struck it on the ground. where do you go to school?

I'll be taking those into account when I do my secondary keys and in-betweens. These are just the 10 keys so there is no timing put in it.
I go to school @ Algonquin College

why wouldn't you place your keys in their propper timing, that kind of defeats the whole purpose of making keys. your arcs and timing should be determined before you shoot.

Rob - True ! It just wasn't something I'd thought of before. This is the second animation I've done that has over 30 frames so I'm still learning the best ways to do it.

I just bought a stopwatch...but haven't used it. Not sure how to use it to time my motions ! lol
