Inspiring as always, Cos. The wiz's face is what (IMHO) is super-successful, from the core highlight on the nose out to the dark shading...and, as usual, the tight focus of the drawing gets really loose and gestural at the edges.
My favorite drawing professor, way back in the day, once said, "The most interesting things happen in the margins." So true, and not just of art...
Rock on,

Brilliant!
But this sketch put one question in my head again - when is a piece of art finished?
PS: The part uppon his nose looks imho not black enough(well, perhaps its only the scan - or i missinterpret something)

Foster - Thanks so much jon, awesome of you to say so!
Atomick - Hey Thanks alot, do always enjoy getting looser as the sketch pans out. Kinda gives a nice rough frame and can always achieve alot of life in those areas I think.
Android - Thanks Android, very nice of you to say so. Always attempt to get feeling across when I sketch, glad to read your comments. Always enjoy your work too.
Mindcandyman - Thanks man, I may have a go at painting this. Haven't had much time free lately tho if I get a chance I'll definetely take it on.
Duracel - Thanks, good question really. And one I can often put to clients when my deadlines are running short heh. But yeah, I'm happy to call this a finished sketch, tho to be a finished illustration would need alot more working imo, if that makes sense.
Hardcore - Thanks man

Also made an effort to get alot of this stuff archived on a site. Nothing fancy tho will have to do for the time being till I get a proper site up and running. I'll keep it updated as I scan new stuff.

your shading sure knock the daylights out of me...
btw...is your epilogue account still active? cos it aint on your signature or decription here anymore and there's tons of artists there...took me a whole day to get past the lag(and i'm using broadband) and reach page 5 of the fantasy artists.......
