So... we know that it's night-time...
there will likely be a fair amount of texture to the cliff wall...
and there's to be some futuristic, or other-worldly craft, that uses searchlights
... Just to sortuv spell it out there.

Afternoon guys, this is my first post on the DSG. Have lurked for a few months but never plucked up the courage to make that first leap. Thanks to Vijil for getting me here with his plugging. I'm still trying to get to grips with my new tablet and learn how to use Photoshop in a whole new way for 'painting' as opposed to websites.
Here we go - 20 minutes, Photoshop CS, Wacom Graphire 2.

My apologies for the construction lines.

That's great for 20 mns, the flashlight looks realistic, and the lines give a rain effect, maybe if you added more it'd be pretty nice!

The Wildlife foundation's latest toy, donated by Hovco corp., has been assigned to the Havas cliffs to help maintain the Codo bird population. Done at night when the Codos sleep at their nest.

Hello there!
I've been another long-time lurker, way too impressed by the works here to post my own stuff... but i thought it's time to give it a try, the DSG themes here are good inspiration and i need a lot of practice. Don't be too harsch please and sorry for my bad english :blahblah:
Photoshop, ~1 hour.

The Wizard Hunter finds its prey in the Vascular Tunnel Cliffs...
I had time to actually put some effort in today! A couple hours in PS....I think...I lost track after about 40mins
Crits please! Its kind of a simple image. I don't like the composition very much but I can't figure out why...

My quick one cent worth on the things that stike me most immediatly...
aiRaGe-Nice building! I like the colors. The composition is pretty dynamic, but a little confusing and the figures aren't up to snuff with the rest of the image
Kexe-Nice concept and very cool hover-rescue things. I would maybe add a little white "sea spray" along the cliffs as a special effect to make the water look more active.
Mach-Awesome. I think this is my favorite image that I've seen of yours so far. I like the concept and the execution. I don't think the background is that far off, but maybe a little texture in the rocks and some more refinement of those little running people would finish it off.

"This is where we finally found him, and it wasn't before we used the floaters to scan the cliffs with spotlights. The test pilot had used the docking claws to attach the fighter to the rocks, and activated the cloak. Funny, really - in all our efforts to reduce its heat and EM output, it was nothing else than its shadow that finally gave it away.
We'll be working on that, of course."
PS7, Graphire 3, ~40 minutes. Not happy with the rock texture.

I only spent 20 minutes on this dude and am hateing it. It looks like a lunchbox with wings.
Damicide that face is amazing! and your glow isn't all that bad. You might want to try Overlay layer style for a glow effect.
Kaylone what you can do and what I can do in 20 minutes is two totally different ball parks. awesome man
Hellqvist That is an dynamic composition and nice lighting. good job
Grembohl cool style. too bad piglet had to bite it :[
