Lightning is such a beautiful thing to capture...the only drawback its so hard to predict when to take the shot. Does any of you fellow photography lovers or people more intune with the weather have any advice/tips any info on how to capture it.. :tihi:

If you can keep from over exposing or defeating the look you want, I'd say set the camera to a low ISO or use a slow film, set it up, point it in the general direction and try taking 30 sec and up exposures. It's sort of hit any miss even still though. I've tried this myself and it can be rather frustrating. Definitely takes patience :)

I know one guy who photographed lightning a lot. He use loooong exposures and had a dark lense to help prevent overexposure. The best time to photgraph lightning is also when it is already fairly dark (like dusk or at night). He had some fantastic shots with multiple lightning strikes, and he had a lot of stinkers too.

most easiest way is to put a video camera on a tripod and record...later you can extract the still image ;)
