New here and thought I would post some pics from my latest wanderings with the Nikon D70. None of these are particularily good in my opinion - the lighting was poor (midday) and the focus is occasionally soft. Still, any critiques would be most welcome!
As a side note, none of these have gone through photoshop yet for better or for worse.
EDIT: Forgive the huge file size! Will take care of that in my next post.

yeah they are a bit blurry, but my favourite is the one of the backside of the leaves (2nd last).
and i dunno random crit/tip
i dont like how most of the things are in the direct centre of the pic, IMO the composition is more interesting if they're not. ever heard of the rule of thirds?

Yep sure have!
Actually some of these were intentionally centered. For example, the pic looking straight down on the plant was done specifically in an attempt to capture the radial nature. None of the images have very good composition though, you are quite right. This was a "go for a walk and snap a few pictures on the way" type thing.
The fifth image was intended to lead the eye a bit with the log. I probably should have adjusted the focus from near to far to help augment that. The first and second images are really centered either. The first meaning to catch the flower and the river that flows around it, the second intending to capture the entire length of the rocky line.
Thanks for the comments - keep 'em coming please! :)

its just the two leaf pictures and the radial plant that are centered.
although its hard not to centre something when it takes up the entire pic. and yeah good idea with the radial plant one but the focus is bad on it.
and you were right about the log one, the focus needs to be adjusted, and maybe the angle (which isnt possible now).
the first pic is kinda nice but hard to see, and the focus is weird in it. it gets blurry too much IMO.
and the second pic doesnt really have focus.
so yeah just some more C&C
woops made a mistake
i thought the first and second pics on in the post were actually just one really long picture - i dunno how i managed to see that.
the third picture just doesnt have a focus in the picture (not that things are out of focus, that there isnt any one thing for the eye to focus on - makes it boring IMO)

Comments noted. Part of the problem was working hand held with a long lens. Definitely added to the blur. Thanks!
