Crawling out of the water in hordes, these jellies are much larger and stiffer then their aquatic counterparts - and they seem to have an affinity to probing things.

This design is based on an old RPG character of mine. Yes, I had an RPG character who was a land walking jellyfish. Strange, I know. :)

This image was captured during the first Karion IV moon landing at Borgir Null. It is an Emperor Land Jelly checking on one of its "medusa" polyps.

Unable to survive independantly on land, jellyfish evolved into parasitic organisms caple of almost complete mind control. They could often be seen attached to the native wildlife of the big cities. The era of man was no more.

Grim- nice concept!
Damicide- Doesn't look bad at all for 40 mins. Hell, mine took an hour and didn't turn out that interesting.

I always mess up the proportions. I guess I should start with the figure being the focus, and not the environment. Anway I don't know if you can see the details. The core of the jelly is a generator, charging it's outer shell so nothing can touch it. Random outbreaks of lightning shoot everywhere, hitting a poor little bird :P.

I like shaky's idea...somehow it seems to have that natural jellyfish characteristic. Would've been better if you spent a few more minutes on it though. Sunny, eeep ugly. Mach and Damicide, sweet rendering...I see a chocobo! Cool stuff from everyone.
Goodnight, have a great w/e...

william: (will? billiam?) I like those, did you start them off with abstract transparent strokes and then work them into full on creatures? Id be interested to know your technique on em, cuz it looks like you had fun with it.
sunny: love the beard, I think he would look good with a cigar and a pint as well. nah, that'd be overboard :P its good just the way it is.

Here is mine. In case you can't tell, its basically an upside down jellyfish. It likes to grab anything in the air. Then it eats it. :teeth:

Damicide. 40 minutes isn't so bad the texture and lighting is really good
William B Hand You got that irodecent thing down, Nice
Grimloch Cool idea looks like the lost Pink Floyd album cover
Lukavi Really good rendering. It seems as though some highlights on the tenticals might make it pop better.
Hellqvist I like the textures that you got going on in there
