this is beautiful,
and i am honored to welcome you aboard!

few crits.
imo,
if the skull is indeed a flag,
define its edges a little more, some holes and such,
but make sure its attached to the pole on his left.

{edit: i just saw the hand, and noticed its a figure..sorry
pump that up.
add a little cast shadow under his hood, and really render the hand}

and i'd like to see the cross much bigger.
it'll fill that space better.
plus the overlap of it on the figure will look good.

great job.

Big thanks to you :) If I'll ever get back working on this those will be the first corrections on my list :)

Thanks again!

I'm really liking how you decided to make the eyes the only warm spot in the entire piece. very nice

Thanks to you too :) Limited use of color was my idea, it's an effective way of guiding the eye to certain extent :)

Thanks again!

I like this quite a bit, but it seems about half-finished. Only the skull seems really done, which makes it vie for focal point with the soldier's head (with the highest contrast in the piece). A couple things that detract from the feel:
The figure seems stiff. While the skeleton hand is holding his left arm, the other arm isn't really even there, though the suggestion of it hanging straight down is. It seems like you were going for a defeated/depressed pose, but it's just on the other side of that.
The cross isn't really believable. While it doesn't need to be a high contrast item (and is better subtle), it should at least have proper angles and the feeling of construction. Its size also suggests that the ground is only a foot or so below the lower pane, though it must be much farther.
The gasmask hose just trails away, like it's connected to a bong. From a design standpoint, you want the hose as short as you can make it, with the oxygen pack either on the back, so that it just pops over the shoulder, or (and this would look cool), have the re-breather canister on the chest (and placing his right hand on it would give it added importance, with the ominous foreshadowing of its potential failure, sending him to accompany the object of his concentration into the hereafter).
Death's hand is just too unfinished. As a reference, reach out hand place your hand on someone’s arm and notice how the fingers lie. Make sure you emulate the feelings you’d like to convey. If he’s comforting the guy, the hand would go higher. I like the subtle feel of the hand down there, but were the fingers more natural, it would add to the feel (supernatural is fine, but unnatural is something to avoid).

Once again, this is very cool. Nice work.

Nice work indeed, I love the colors and the general "feel" to it.

It has (I'm assuming it's intentional) a very powerful WW1 feel to it. Great, subtle handling of the subject matter. I agree that the contrast on the bottom 2/3 of the image seems a bit too dark.

Looks cool, but yeah it's not realy finished i think.
But i can say i'm jealous, i realy like the overall atmosphere.
Is this from reference (or partly).

Well done, post more! :)

The only thing bothering me is the stiffness of the gas mask hose. I also would like to see the cross far more bigger and back it up more on the foreground. Overall I think it's getting there, just alil bit more tweking
