Hi, Im a graduate animator working in the games industry but eventually want to work in concept. As my Uni degree was focused on animation Im trying to put some time aside to learn more about drawing and concept art. Here are a few doodles from my sketch book and some work on a project I've set myself. I recently discovered the "Skillful Huntsman" book which has been a great help. Any feedback would be really great. Thanks. Tim

Some really interesting work, Tim!
I like the way you capture facial expressions with so little brushwork.

Some of the headpieces look bigger than Carnivale Dancers in Rio, and having known a couple Vegas showgirls, I know that those things can be really heavy, so you may want to re-evaluate a few of the bulkier looking "topknots."

The only other area I think you need to pay a bit more attention to is feet size and placement. A couple poses look odd, because one leg is at a strange angle, and more than a few appear to be suffering from "One Foot Bigger than the Other" Syndrome.

Hi Madster,
thanks for the feedback that was quick! Its funny how you dont notice some things until someone points it out. The inner foot on the guy with the bag on his head is huge! I agree with you about the foot positions, thats something I am currently working on. Looking at some of the work on this forum and in books I noticed the position of the feet can really make a pose more dynamic. I think I have to take a bit more care in the placement, on reflection it seems that in some of the images they sit in front of the figure rather than underneath :(
Thanks for your feedback
Tim

Hi, I havn't posted in a while so here's and update of what Im currently working on. These are all thumbnails for a project based on Don Quixote. I'm thinking of setting my version of the story in the fututre or present day. Im only a little way into the book at the moment so will continue to work and update as I go along. Its a mixture of pencil and photoshop work. Any comments or thoughts would be great.
Thanks
Tim
