1st painting i made that i was happy about (3d ever on tablet)

[edit] i've simplefied the jedi and removed sum other stuff. now im going to focus on the jedi b4 anything else. i guess. any advice ><? should i do sum refining sketchwork 1st, like face, clothes, subtle lines? or other stuff?

hi, i think your off to a good start, but may want to take a step back and focus on something first. take you 'jedi' character, dont worry about the rest of the scene, just focus on him/her.

next thing, try drawing long, flowing, smooth lines. those little scratchy lines are getting messy, and will make things harder for you later.

try something like this;

this is just s quick draw over. my lines a smoother and longer, which is something you might want to work on.

i repositioned him a bit, and i dont really agree with his current position at all, its awkward. so, start with something easier, like a defensive stance, or even standing, sitting, which ever. find something that seems more natural. i dont think anyone, even a jedi, can position their legs like that in mid air!.

dont worry about details, work on smooth lines, proportions, and character positioning.

ur right about everything, anatomically i still need a lot of knowledge. i'm gonna reed loomis asap, which ought to help. and ur right, i hit off 2 fast. still im gonna try it anyhow. and the lines: im still getting used to a tablet, long lines r still difficult for me :P. and my sketching technique sux.

new painting, it went pretty good so i also posted it in the creature thread.
the house prob needs sum sharper lines for the edges, since the red line kinda stands out now.

I'd like to suggest that you read about color. though that's usually not the subject to start with. (rather: lines, perspective, values)
