"Actraiser" and "The War on Legs"

It's been a while since I posted anything. I've been trying to figure out different things to do...so these are the results. I'm not sure how these will be received so I'd apreciate any crits that I can use to improve my future works. thank you for any feedback, and viwing my work!

They`re allright, i like em, the first one could use some more definition I mean there`s a fire so use the light to show us the character more. The second piece kicks ass, but the sky throws me off it seems too realistic compared to everything else. Keep it up.

cool, thanks for the observations. youre right about that sky. i somehow have to make it fit more...but how? make it less defined? humm...
the top pic i was a little unsure of. some of the composition and angles werent quite right, but the fire's light needs to accent the other ojects in the scene, eh? ok, i'll give it a try...

I don't think you painted the sky. Just like you didn't paint the explosions...

But it fits well in the picture. I like the overall feeling that you get. But you just need to add, that you didn't paint the entire scene.

yup, youre right. the sky, the explosions(you found the ref pic i used) and even the rocky area thr foreground mech is standing on are photos. i thought i mensioned this, but i guess i did so only on artwanted.com.

yeah, i have to be able to impliment photo elements with paint better, to give a much more convincing flow to my peices. next time i'll just ask permission from the sites i borrow photos from to avoid confusion and post this with my works. mattes are difficult. i kinda wish i could get more crits though.
