I like the sumobot, although the mawashi looks more like a Depends Adult Diaper.
Regulation mawashi colors are ONLY black, purple, or dark blue, although amateur sumo wrestlers wear white, but the mawashi is still far more substantial than the bikini-type bottom you've rendered.
Part of its purpose is to cover the genitals, but it also serves the functional purpose of providing a handhold for the opponents to grapple as they try to maneuver their opponent out of the ring. That is why it is so massive. Even cotton training mawashi are 30 feet long by about 2 feet wide...
The other images are too sloppy in execution to clearly distinguish exactly what is going on. Either some comp roughs, or better linework would make a vast improvement in these.
It's hard to give suggestions for doodles, as they are, well...doodles. But, I guess for doodles, they're okay enough...
Remember, C&C is kinda one of those "You get what you give" type deals...You give us vague doodles, you'll more than likely get vague comments...

Then again, I don't think robotic armor is regulation either. :dad:
I like the pieces a lot, actually, and, like madster said, I think you should finish them up. The first one is the best, I think. The fountain thing looks sweet.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to completely disagree with Madster. I love what I am seeing so far, you have a great style starting to develop here. Sure you might consider tightening them down a little bit, to pull out details/ clear confusing areas up, but don't loose the looseness. If you haven't already, check out some of Sparth's works, he is a master at the loose yet perfectly detailed photoshop style. Keep it up, and keep posting.
Oh yeah, good color choices so far.

your style is nice, looks like minimum strokes to produce maximum effect.
is it me or has sparth not updated in two years?

I really like the first three. Number one has an ethereal feel to it that makes me think of faerie glades or some strange science fiction locale. The second one has a great angle and sense of action. The third one has a great feel of middle of the night work in the hanger sort of thing to me. All three are nice works.

I'm interested in how long each piece took, and what techniques/brushes you used?

kodimynatt - they take about 1.5 hrs, the train one took considerably longer since i was playing around with patterning and the vanishing point features.
the brushes i use are just the default Hard round, Soft round, and Chalk brush. you can block in values and forms in very easily with the chalk. I also use other brushes to create some textures, but not very often.
thanks wraithdrit
