I drew these last night in my figure session. David is one of my favorite models, he had a very rubenesque figure, and I like his face for personal reasons because he resembles my father.

Ouch! all those straight edges hurt! I think that some nice long round ones would make it look better! imo:rolleyes:

I suppose a couple curvy lines couldn't hurt, however, I'm seriously digging the angles and straight edges, especially the ear on the first one. They're all badass.

I really like this drawings - they have a cubistic feeling with very strong power. Looks a bit like a mixture between Hogarth and Braque :)
NIce, inspiring work as usual ... I better get back to bed to cure my back and be able to draw again ;)

I think what I value most of your drawing is the solidity of the forms and the angular description...the way you render forms out is so appealing. It works great especially for male muscle structure like this. Awesome awesome stuff Andrew. So for me the more angular the betterer.

What rubenesque mean?
I really like those hard edges, it makes his face look like it's been hacked out of stone, and at the same time not too un-lifelike. Or something... :D

andrew-
I think i will always finds something new in your drawins and paintings to learn from. These strokes have a grace to them a curve could try, but no way mimic. Very nice.
I especially like the second peice, the delicacies show true form with out a lot of work to them.
I even see a bit of what Picasso was doing around the time he started painting the African masks. While your direction may have had another purpose, it still gives off the impression of the hard angles the masks had Picasso put to his paintings.
cool beans.
