Hi all,

Finally figured out how to send an image! I really love the work on this forum and have been doing some digital artwork myself, here is my take on a Orc....

Any comments/ crits are welcome.

I love it. The blood looks great too. Would like to see more of a background though, like a battlefield scene.

Real good use of shadow to build the form.
His hair looks too clean and neat for an ork. but then any ork that actually lived long enough to have white hair has got to be one bad dude, so I wouldn't razz 'im about his hairdoo.

yeah it's true, I was pretty much done with him when I thought ohhh hes just been to he barber haaa

Maybe i'll greese up it some when I get time, make it all dirty....

Amazing art!

i cant criticize the work at all because i have no technical/artistic skill and cant find flaw with anything.

but i agree with bracomadar in that if you added a battle scene in the background it would really make the picture a lot better IMO.

maybe if you made it a wide shot with the orc on the left and the raging battle in the background on the right. also the left side of his face is a lot less detailed than the rest, it kind of looks unfinished.

your design reminds me of the main villain in the movie "The Time Machine" by H.G. Wells, but with Dobby's ears (from Harry Potter).

Hi Steve,

I actually like this pic as it is. As a character design its great. But with the mention of the same character standing in a battle scene I'd like to see that too. For that scene i'd suggest a more intesne lighting scheme with maybe fire and smoke in the background etc.

Great style to your work. Hope you enjoying the digital side of it. Took me ages to get used to.

I feel so at home with it, I am using painter 9 which is just so much fun to use!

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions, I may well do a verion with such a background scene, I kinda feel that I'm not quite done with the whole Orc idea just yet....feels like theres a lot that can be done with it.
