This is M.I.F.O (Mueller Inspired Freak Orc)

I read John Mueller's Orc thread last week and have been dying to take a crack at one of the hairy beasts myself. Did this guy last night. 5-6 hours straight photoshop. I was hoping to make him look just plain evil.

people have been asking how I work these days so I am including a couple iterations of this guy.

Here is approximately 2 hours in.

and here is about 4 hours of work... I really like some qualities of this iteration that got lost when I adjusted the brightness and color for the final.

Nice...yeah the bigger version shows a lot more. I really like your work hawkprey...it has a gritty feel to it. I visit your website often.

the thing i like most about this orc is that it's gritty, dirty, orc ish grim is abundantly present. yummy hawkprey;) .

Might sound silly but what I really like about him are his special features like that single middle tooth there. And his long horizontal ears. That chain rocks by the way ! All those little things give your creature some character and stands out. Great ! :chug:

Awesome piece! Is his weapon held behind him? The positions of the arms are a little confusing, but it really isn't important to tell you the truth.... it does not distract from the impact of the piece which is very strong.

Ya those arms are an issue. I think if I was going to take longer with this piece I would have addressed the arms a little better. I kinda had to pick my battles with this one so I could get it done in one evening.

It also bugs me that his spear thing doesnt recede in space. He is holding it at an angle behind him, yet it seems to be on the same plain as his leg. ugh..........
