here are a couple of sketches inspired by and studied from prometheus' website. the knight and the centaur are his images, i was just doing a study. the girl and roboman are my own originals. comments crits etc welcome

Hehe, cool. I think it's better to practice from real life or photos though, to get a good foundation. My paintings are a product and you won't learn the steps that led to the product by looking at it.
I know I make a lot of mistakes too, so don't copy them... :D

well i am drawing from life and photo reference (human, animal, etc.) this was just a pratice in style. trying to get form, etc... and applying what i've relearned to some new sketches. i "copy" other artists (old masters and new artists) to learn technique as far as shading and how they apply anatomy to their drawings, paintings etc. i dunno it felt like a good lesson to me...

I know these are quick studies, but the most consistent anatomy problem seems to be the arms, predominantly in their length.

The lowest sketch (armored helmet and pauldrons) strikes me as the best of this group. It has a confidence of stroke and form not seen in the other drawings, and even though it's contours only, it has a nice sense of volume!
