.. outstanding stuff, though I don't remember his name in the credits ---- must've not worked enough hours, that crazy-fast bastard :dead:

They captured his color and mood extremely well... not to mention those tripods --- I'm still wondering who had the most influence on the tripod deign (Cheing, Church, others??)

I haven't seen the movie but the tripod face thing seem to work well with the 3 eyes and all. The curve of the head makes it look kind of sad and sinister. Clever with the feet having 3 feet.

I'm a bit tired of all the curves in modern design though. Being a retro guy, I would've liked to see some retro design (http://itchstudios.com/psg/junk/wotw.jpg) for the tripods.

Although, the hover-tanks in the original movie was kinda curvy too.

Sweet, good find dude! With any luck we will see an Art of War of the Worlds book soon..... Would be extra awesome if it was a complete retrospective of WOTW art over the last century

Church, for sure...

If you haven't already seen his site, he's posted EP3 stuff too...

Amazing.

I just picked up the new Cinefex, which features WotW, in Barnes&Noble. Great cover shot of Dakota Fanning vs the "Uber-Tripod". As usual they do a wonderful job explaining the process ILM went through from start to finish. There's some cool shots in the magazine that didn't make the final movie, but will surely be in the DVD. The article also explains some of the back story the movie left out. Like where the aliens are from, why they look the way they do, and why the Tripods seemed to get bigger in some scenes. Very cool stuff. Some of the shots cut from the film sound cool as hell, like Tom Cruise's group sneaking past tripods as they rip hiding people from houses.

This issue also has a full page ad for Massive Black! NICE!
