Hello there, I'm new to concept art, and this is my first entry. I'm rather inexperienced and don't really know what I'm doing, so I would appreciate some heavy critique. :)
Well, I wanted to design a weird buglike creature, and here it is. I'm not really happy with it, but I guess practice makes perfect :/

Welcome, Damster!
This is a good concept! You've done pretty well so far with it.
I think at this point, if you want to continue working on it, you should go back are redefine your main lines, especially on the bugs legs, around the "face" of it, and the middle of the back. Presently, everything gets very vague and crudely rendered in those areas, most noticibly the "feet".
Clean up your lines and darken the details to help them stand out. Then you can focus on better enhancing them with highlights and shadows.
The perspective of the little guy in the corner is a bit off, but can be fixed after you get the bug completed.

The contrast is really light, don't be afraid to boost it up more. The texture on the legs look cool, but I can't quite make out the texture on his back. Is he like a beetle type of bug, or some other type? Some part of his back looks like it could use hard shading and lighting, to show the beetle like shell texture. But some part of it looks too soft. I know bugs have hairs in some parts, but the parts on your bug looks more like cotton texture than hairs. Well, who knows, there could be some special breed. :)
I hope you work more on this and keep us updated.
