Background:

My name is Cory and im 17 years old
i only really started taking pictures in september of 2004 so im still pretty amatuer. I dont get the chance to go out and take pictures much, and i cant carry a camera around with me everywhere cause i dont actually own one yet. I used the same camera for all these pictures and it belongs to the Yearbook at my school.

The camera is a Panisonic DMC-FZ10 4.0 Megapixel camera, with a 12x optical zoom Leica lense.

All of these pictures are essentially unedited. No tonal values were changed, i have adjusted the contrast in a few, but thats it.

comments and/or criticisms are welcomed/invited.

p.s. sorry about the small size of the images but photobucket was the only place i knew to upload them and it automatically decreased the size.

*****Edit --> Added 'new' pictures*******

i have added some more pictures. some of these i dont think are as good as the ones from before but i thought i'd just add some more - none of these pics were taken within the past few months, and several were taken for my Yearbook for school.

First off, welcome to ConceptArt!

Secondly...great work. Your have a very sharp camera! Great eye, too. My favorite is the cat picture.

edit: Your picture of your eye is nice, I like the color enchantment. The only thing bugging me is the harsh glare off your face under your eye.

Thank you.

The cat is my baby, and her name is Tigger. She is a beautiful cat. i have some more pictures of her that arent such nice pictures but do show how beautiful she is. I could upload them if you like.

and the glare under my eye is because that part of my skin was in direct sunlight.

I'm guessing you used Photoshop before? ^^ Try burning the glare on the skin and see if it looks any better.

when i altered that picture before all i did was crop it and then enhance the colour of the iris, which i did in PS. I could get rid of the glare under my eye in photoshop, but i kinda like it. Although the transition from the shadowed skin to the skin in direct sunlight is a bit harsh. Maybe i will try blending the tones.

^_^ Whatever works for you. It's your art, you should keep it as you like it. I'm just here to offer advice and encouragement.

Speaking of which, you are a great photographer!

Well thank you! =)

I checked out the two photos in your profile and they're both quite nice, although the dog one is a bit blurry.

I definantly like your work. I like the pennies alot. And the spray painting of the tatooes. Both are very nice. I like the cat picture, but I think it would look better slightly less close. But that is just totally personal opinion. Also, I have to side with you (ShadeofDawn) and not Wolfykins about the part of your face that is brightly lit. I like that. Once again, just sorta a style thing. The flower ones seems sorta, un-unique. Beautiful, but not a new look. The ring is nice, but without the reflection I dont' think there would be that much to the picture. Just something to think about Nice work.

Yeah, that dog one needs to be updated. o-O I fixed it up some in Photoshop. I think I might have uploaded the wrong file here. (figures) Anyway, to stay on topic, great work, I'd love to see more!

yeah the flowers are kinda typical magazine/advertisement looking flowers, but thats what pleased me about the pictures. seeing as im not a profesional photographer, i was pleased when the photos looked cliche/unoriginal/professional.

but thank you for the nice comments, and the friendly criticisms. =)
