That one of the church is amazing. Try playing with the color saturation some to see if you can bring out the reflection of the sky any stronger. You did a great job catching the colors in the last one. What kind of camera/lens do you have?

Heres an updated version of the church. Better or worse?
as to the camera that I use, its just a basic finepix digital camera with 4 megapixels. No lenses. All the colors were there in nature, I just coaxed them out a little bit by toying with some of the settings.

Much better! They stand out so much more now, it makes it more eye catching. More importantly, do you think the new version looks better?

Personally, I prefer not to saturate the colors too much or I think that it looks a bit too fake (even though I love bright colors.) but I think that it turned out well on this one.

Personally, I sorta like the church before, though the later one does have some better aspects. The only reason I dont' like the later one is the green glow does look a little bit fake, and also gives sorta a weird, stereotypical alien-is-near look. On the other hand, the windows do look much better. So its sort of a trade off.

btw, I really like the last picture on the first post. That is an amazing sky.

I found out a new way to fix up photos and bring out the colors. It might work better than upping the saturation, if you want to give it a shot.

1) Change the mode on your picture to Lab
2) Make a new layer
3) Image > Apply Image
4) Change the channel to a
5) Change the blending to Soft Light
6) Repeat 4, but change it to b instead of a
7) Change the blending mode on the new layer to soft light.
8 ) Change the mode back to RBG color to save it.

It can work really well, especially on washed out photos. But I think it might be just what you need! ^_^

I tried that and it gave me something really funky looking. Are the transparency and/or masking supposed to be checked?

what you should do to bring out the color in the windows, but not make the overall image too saturated and "fake-looking" is to go into photoshop and use the selection tool to only select those areas..then bump the saturation of the selected windows. that will keep the rest looking correct, but adding that subtle umph of color in the windows...to select it, you could use either the magic wand or lasso.
