Hi, i'm r3t... a starting digital 'artist' (don't wanna call myself like that yet).
This pic is a practise i did for lightning. It's also the first larger image i did with my new wacom tablet so it was a nice practise for that as well. The size i'm posting it as is actually the same size i created it. It was quite a struggle as i had to work very detailed. From now on i'll only work on a larger canvas which i'll resize afterworths.
Anyway, i hope you people like it, any feedback is highly appreciated.

I love the lighting in this picture, the moonlight on the roof, the light cast from the lantern. Perspective in this piece is grand specially the roof tiles.

I cant help feeling that theres something wrong with the girl in the middle tho. I think its the size of her head in realation to the rest of her body. She looks more like a midget than a child (im not sure if this is what you were trying to create).

I like the dead guy on the right and the monster on the left reminds me of the honey monster from the sugar puffs (breakfast cereal in uk) tv adverts years ago.

In short I like it but theres something not right with the girl that I cant quite put my finger on.

r3t, i'm with rosie: the lighting is nice.
i also agree that the girl looks kinda off. the arm holding the lamp is weird. may want to re-think her pose and proportions. the monster holding the axe, is it holding the axe with its palms down or up? the way the fingers are drawn confuses me. the details on the dead-body are kinda blurry (shadows aren't as sharp on him as, for example, on the monster), but on the roof and mountain look great.

great piece, creepy idea.

I agree, the child is a little off. I believe her head should be a little bigger and her shoulders seem to be off. Instead of having her arm streatched to the side, move it so she is holding it in front, that might look a little better and help her look 3-d. also, her arms are a bit too long. Though I REALLY Like the feel of this painting. It is very creepy, the highlights are amazing. Children are hard to draw, don't get me wrong, I can crit works but I cannot draw worth a darn. ^^ Hope my crits help *cowers*
