I lurk a lot, but decided to post something i've been working on. I've always really liked this illustration from a game from awhile back called Revenant. I forget who the artist is, but I love the perspective, and I wanted to try to recreate something similar.

I used a poser model as a reference for this. Body seems alright, but I guess that's because i had the aforementioned reference. Managed to do the sword, by just fiddling around, got lucky i think. But the armour on the legs, and the loin cloth is pissing me off. I just can't seem to get them looking right. Actually, i really wanted to do a chain mail skirt but that's just not happening.

Comments, suggestions welcomed.

notice the up view on the hand on the revenant piece...also notice the size of the head in order to exaggerate the viewpoint.

ask yourself how the revenant image pulled it off...and do some of those things.

keep it up!

I think you should also laydown the forms as a whole first so all your proportions are right, then start to render in detail... but some people work differently...

Keep at it though, I know you are prolly getting frustrated... but if you keep at it long enough, and find some good reference to help you, it will come out nice...

good luck

peace.
