I must say, I like the clean linework much more then the colors.

ditto. something is lost in the image when you pull in the colour. think it has something to do with the pallette of choice. id sooner have seen an undead as a sort of green/beige.. looks too comical to be taken seriously, if you get me.

I like the line work too. For the colouring I'd make the cast shadow of the arm on the hair darker.

SWWEEEEEEEET style!

especially love the sketch.

as for the colored version: apart from a missing background (not a must) there's two things bugging me, namely the cut off arm with the knife (distracts a bit, makes it hard for one to see whats going on), and the colour of the scalemail (wich makes that wonderful bonearm disappear to some extend)

my suggestions:

-an extension of the cut off arm would make it clearer that its not some bodypart of the undead. a bloody stump on the right side of the cut off head would make that part visually clearer (as well as adding some more gore MUAHAHAH!)

- the scalemail seems to be made of brass or gold, drawing too much attention from the anatomy (too bright). bronze would be better - just tone down the colour a bit, add a slight brownish touch to it and add a littlebit of green patina (a distinctive feature of aged bronze) - that should give it a more antique/rotten feel, give more attention to the bonearm and it would blend in with the dominant colour palette of green/brown/grey you were using.

apart from that, keep up that awesome linework of yours- rocks like hell!

Sorry for how short my comment was. The reason I like the lineart more is, some of the details like the arrows really caught your attention while in the color version, the vibrant green and red is the first thing you look at. As for the color pallette, I think this is a situation for dark colors, think brown, and the humans head looks like it has alot of blood in it for being... off...

the character looks very cartoony. like ren and stempy. the piece is very boring. try putting him in an environment with a more ation oriented pose that will help!
