I have followed this board for a while and have been immensely impressed by the caliber of art shown on these boards. This is my first time posting work here and I am hopeing to get some critique from any one who cares to offer it. I have just graduated from the Joe Kubert School and am busting my ass to try and get into the industry. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. You can also check out more of my work at www.jerrywilsonart.com. Thanks and I look forward to hearing your comments.

The linework is the strongest element of most of these. There are a ton of little things that keep you from being ready for prime time, though. I'll just point out the first things that caught my eye about each one.
First piece: Ditch the white outline. It's cheap.
Second piece: Random subject matter, random composition, random storytelling.
Third piece: Lots of little anatomical problems with her body, the background looks like an afterthought, and the cats are all too small. Also, ditch the white outlines.
Fourth piece: Why is there that gap in the line that describes her jaw?
Fifth piece: Supergirl looks like she's pasted on to the background, not flying, and the foreshortening of her legs makes her look like an amputee. Nothing about the foreground figure is working.
Fifth piece: Is the circular inset of Spidey panel #2 or #3? The anatomy and proportion of all the figures are waaaaay off.
My main recommendation at this point is lots and lots of figure drawing.

Although the delivery was blunt, some good pointers there. I agree that spidey look really out of whack. I like the stylized white border on the first image, it gives a very electric feel, but i don't think it should be something that is used often. Nice imagery and ideas for number two, but would have been nice if there was a point or emotion behind it. Thinking through a composition to make it have a message will greatly improve your work. Even a poorly rendered image can be amazing if the emotion is captured. really nice stuff. :-)
