hello all... I've been lurking here for quite a while, and i just wanted to make an introduction of sorts. Recently I've started doodling alot of robots (sparth was a big inspiration there) and i just wanted to give em a showin

and more in my new "Archibots" gallery here: www.artistscoven.com (http://www.artistscoven.com/4images/categories.php?cat_id=2)

i'm really new to drawing robots, but i'm really having alot of fun with em... and that's really what matters in my mind. I really wanna say what an inspiration this forum has been, and thanks!

thanks for looking & feedback and suggestions are totally welcome... encouraged actually :D

Nice work on those bots. Are they from something, or what?

finn, those look great. i like how the 'components' (body parts) are whole parts. what I mean is, the arm is actually an arm-pieice, not just a metal tube with metal shielding. every robot has a very solid looking chassis. the robot seems more real (ambiguous term, i know...)

in sparth's work, for example, the exterior and interior are much more seperate. his 'bots have a collection of small bars and other parts encased in shells, panels, coverings of metal.

i hope i've made my point clearly.

anyway, i like your robots because (1) they're well done, technically and creatively and (2) because they're robots and not just machinery.

great work. forgive the ramble.

Sybaronde - yeah i'm kinda doodling up possible designs for a story i wanna do.

soupface - i totally appreciate your response man, and i get everything you're sayin. I'm trying to do all of these in mind that i may want to translate them to 3d someday... even puppets for stop motion.
