@J.Mac ha it would be more sick if it bled from your lip ring, yum :D

@Jens. hey I really like the portrait done in green (: Maybe you can try moving the mirror to be above you or below you to give yourself more of a challenge

Is there a way to post a sp from your computer without any programs like photoshop?

PeggyChung

You just load your scans/photos/digital paintings onto this site, get the URL and above the area you post a message, there should be a box that you can click that allows you to post a picture, thats where you put the URL in.

Glad to see this thread's still alive.

Here's a fast one..

http://website.leidenuniv.nl/~s0369519/drawing/sp%2018-07-2005.jpg

Holy crap Jens..how much sp's do do you have so far?
I like the 15th of july one, it has nice lines although very loose and the eyes are very alive. 13th is a bit flat...what's up with the spots on the forehead btw..did I miss something?

t i m o t h y:
Cool expression...the mouth does look a bit strange...plus the right iris may be a bit big compared to the left one..looking in a different direction as well :) Maybe that was done on purpose..I understand it's a sketch anyway..good job.

Lady: you have progressed a lot. I haven't been here a while but I've seen your posts here and there..and you're really starting to grasp form and value..good work.

I hope it doesn't take months again before I post something :)

Looking back at it makes clear that I need to stop moving my head so much while drawing..ehehe..it's crooked..ahhh well..better luck next time.

Cheers

tjendol, it's a birth spot in the middle of my fore head. Well, not really a birthspot since it started appear when I was around 1 and a half. Somethimes I just look over it when I draw, i'm so used to it that i don't even notice it. So that's why some sp's don't have it :) A few years back I wanned to get it removed but now I think, it's what nature gave me, it's doesn't hurt, it hasn't prevented me from getting a girlfriend, it's not of a dangerous kind, remarks of other people have become so rare. Why even bother spending so much money on it.

If you check the file name you can see the number. I'm currently at 57, have to post 3 more. But i restarted counting. Last year I made around 200 sps

200...geez..wish I had kept it up..it's definitely good practice. You've got some discipline man.

Ahh..it's like a mole..yeah, it made me wonder because I didn't see it in all the sp's. I think it's kinda cool actually..ehehe..especially because it's pretty much in the center as well..it's like you're the chosen one or something..ehehehe. Anyway..if it doesn't bother you..leave it alone..I don't see why it should anyway.

Damn, Jens, way to pump them out! Sweet!

I finally started my first life drawing course (portraiture) and we have been using charcoals, the first time I've touched them in over 20 years. Of course, we kicked off with SP's.

Here's a really quick sp. I tried to do it as quickly and loosely as I could stand, trying to get away from spending a lifetime on lines. Probably the fastest Ive allowed myself to work on one, 20 min.

Here's another, done fairly quickly as well, from a low angle. Didn't really "finish" it, I just kind of stopped once I was fairly happy with it.

Painting is fun, i wish i had more time to do it. I'll try this more often. Still doing the drawings daily, just took a breather after i was not accepted into art school (not really surprising).
Jens, looks good. Maybe take an eraser and really try to figure out the right placement of everything, spend some time erasing & redrawing. Always helps me.
Timothy & Nova, really like these.
Colors are off, i'm in for a beating in the Thunderdome :teeth:
