I've been recently hired to do a traditional animation short for dj stakka. It's going to be amusic video which will be aired on european mtv, in 6-7 months. I'm doing a pencil miniature of something freaky which will pop up randomly over live footage. anyways I took one quarter of animation and learned some traditional techniques. I'm currently a graphic design student w/ 2 quarters to go. I signed up for a 3-d modeling class, and will be taking the second session the quarter after. my question is w/ say a 3 min. traditional reel (which will be in the music video) along with a couple of 3dmax charaters, will this be enough to get some entry level work? my style consists mainly of creature design (which pushes the envelope on todays designs) plus traditional figure studies. I would'nt have time to do extensive environments or a full scale 3d reel.
