He saw all these forms and faces in a thousand relationships become newly
born. Each one was mortal, a passionate, painful example of all that is
transitory. Yet none of them died, they only changed, were always reborn,
continually had a new face: only time stood between one face and another."

Im glad you guys like this one, its definately a drastic departure from my paintings and drawings, I have been expanding my artistic arsonal by brusing back up on my 3d skills, I used to model alot in school, but I got so busy with concepts I didnt have time to do much in the last few years. Its a great challenge, I hope to share some more portraits like this with you in the future

will you be filling that character modeling position at retro yourself? ;) great work - the mouth and nose and eyes are just about perfect, although the polygons across the forehead and chin look like they could use a little work....however, the hair is stellar, and that shit ain't easy! Now you don't even need a mirror :) you can just fire up Android3D!

Nice to hear that someone here likes Hesse :) Greath author, too bad it isn't taught at school anymore :\

Great stuff you did there, I think 5 o'clock is a nice perspective...

wow..

my first thought was:I can't believe he captured the look of a 3d model so good in a painting.

my second thought was: well maybe it's 3d..but that would be insane if he's just as good on the computer as he is on paper.

then after reading all the post I thought: wow..so there's no platform he isn't badass at.

thank you for blowing my mind. :chug:
