whoever told you that you could get varying line weight from a ball point pen is WHACKO!!! it's not true line weight if the line is just made up of many many little lines. If going for line weight....find yourself a nice brush.

other than that....not bad. try to get some expressions on those faces that really define the character.

JamesCroley: I should have clarified: You can get a varying line with a ballpoint, if you use the right ones. I use the ones with the thicker, gooey ink; not the pens with the thinner, liquid ink. That makes a big difference. You get a varying line by varying your pressure. So it’s a good exercise in that. I only use ballpoints sometimes for sketching. I’ll use a brush for inking, which I agree, is the choice for getting a truly expressive line.
