you need a better scanner. if this was taken with a camera, you need a scanner. also, these look like copies. while you may learn something from basing you art on other artists, you will also inherit their limitations. good luck

Hey i havet seen you before well howdy! Um i just want to comment on your thread here um i have to tell you that I would rethink devoting my efforts to imulating the concepts of wess bert and marko. I knew wess personaly back when he was still in school at C I A we never realy talked that much and when ever we did meet our conversations were mainly about fps games that were gonna be coming out. Well one day i saw him in the lab i had to ask "how do you render like that" and he of course responded with " alot of life drawing". It made perfect sense as we draw from life we build up what he would call our " visual dictionaries" this gives us plenty of imformation to manipulate and invent on top of when we are conceptualising.as Plato said Art immitates life and the world we live in is a pale less refined reflection of an idealised world not seen. Thus art its self is seen as the " the undesired shell of the world we cant see. Now i dont agree with this completely but what i do belive is that if your goal is become as proficiant a draftman as Wess and Mark you need to render from life as much as possible until it becomes instinctual. Becasue simply trying to redraw The sketches of these two Artist will not alow you two devolpe your own methods for rednering.

(sik) when i say life drawing i mean you draw from whats actualy in front of you and around you. This allows you to see and train your eye to better understand how light and shadows realy function over a form and how visual relationships function. There are limitation to working with 2d still lifes alone.

just read the thread
antquin_yes sorry scanning takes me too long..i will try taking better pics next time..i like to draw from diferent artists to learn something on them..i like the way their figures are thats all..
noshadowmaster..thanks for the advice..im going for fine arts and i know that is the key..life drawing..my intention is not too emulate..would never do it..i see things different than they do..i like sketching other artists ..sometimes for fun..or because i find a certain image interesting.. or if wanna learn a certain way of doing things..I dont planto become as good as them..i know they are awesome..i dont like comparing myself to any artist past or present..i just want to get better as i go on...
