Your digital painting test looks to me like you did a bunch of effects in photoshop, not actually painting with the paintbrush tool. The last piece, the voodoo doll thing, looks to me like u maybe used the burn to to add shadows. Don't use anything but the paintbrush it makes it look strange, except for maybe a few exceptions. Try reading this tutorial (http://itchstudios.com/psg/art_tut.htm), I know it's a humongus read, but it'll help you I guarantee it.

Don't get down on yourself, just keep practicing. Also wtf was going on in your head when you got the idea for a fish hook through the eyelid picture?! I kind like it in a sadistic scary kinda way.

tnx mavrick71 for the tutorial, i'll get right on it
as for the painted images the head is colored all in paintbrush..i just went wrong dark to light and different colors..i know it doesnt look like a painting at all but actually it was done by using brushes..that was mybrush coloring test btw
for the dude i did use dodge and burn and now i dont really like it anymore..because it kinda gives off a weird energy
for the eyelid picture lol, it was done in the mornin after i had to wake up very early and walk the dog. I couldnt sleep afterwards so i was like in pain and i outcame the picture :D...i even showed it to my mom and she was like O.O what is goin on in ur head lol...well i like drawin dark like pictures..maybe its because i aint rap and hip-hop style (god i hate those music styles) im into gothic/death/ and dark style :)

I think there might be a solution for your problem: Have a look at your room and draw the things you see. Draw one of your chairs, your tv, your favourite action-figure. And when you feel a little bit more self confident go out and draw the things you see outside: a car, a tree, a person waiting for the bus.
This is less a drawing practice than a "looking" practice. So will get an eye for shapes, structures, shadows...etc.
And: try to "see" abstract planes, the dark regions & the lights, before you draw them. Itīs the way I do it. Maybe it helps you. Or, if you donīt get very far with that just do the traditional way: look for the perspective lines...etc.
But the idea behind that is that this way you would develop an overall understanding and an eye for details which surely will help you visualise the things in your head.
good luck!
