Hi i have this really annoying problem in painter 6 and i can't seem to fix it!

In painter 6, when i'm using my wacom tablet the cursor and the brush strokes i create don't line up properly. Like, when i make a brush stroke for instance, the brush stroke will appear a few centimetres left of the location of the cursor on the screen. I noticed that this only happens when i'm on a screen resolution higher than 600x800, because when i'm on 600x800 res, the cursor and the brushstrokes are perfectly aligned (however using that size resolution is a real pain and i'd rather use a higher res for my workspace). This problem also doesn't happen in other programs i use, such as photoshop or painter 9, only painter 6. I've also tried re-installing both my tablet and my painter 6 program.

Can anyone help me w/ this problem? I'd really appreciate it.

I had this same problem but I could run Painter 6 in higher resolutions then you seem to get. I could run up to 1152 by 864 but once I went higher it would not align properly. I found reinstalling, even with all the patches didn't resolve the problem.

So, I've settled to run at 1152 by 864. Now here's where it gets weird. I recently replaced my darkening Samtron monitor with the cheap line of Viewsonic monitors and I can now go higher than 1152 by 864 and Painter 6's brush is still aligned. I haven't tested it recently as I just find I get a better refresh rate at 1152.

I love Painter 6 for it's simplicity and it's speed compared to Painter 9 and PhotoShop. Hope you can get this problem resolved.
