Allow me to be the first to say "cool." :)

My only crits would be the first painting is too busy, and the second one isn't busy enough. The thruster fire from that ship should be painting the landscape with light!

the first is sorta confusing.

the second seems unfinished. the sky is nice, and the building in the bottom left is pretty crisp... the ship doesn't look so hot. make it a light source, give it more detail.

i really like the third. surreal.

the fourth is also cool. i like the lights and rain. reminds me of anachronox (http://www.planetanachronox.com).
dude, that was a great game.

nice work.

it was a class assignment...we were given descriptions from a novel, descriptions of characters ( what they wore, what they did etc) and descriptions of vehicles and envirnoments...

we were told to design these things in an interesting way, but also in keeping with the descriptions. it was a very challenging assignment. My instructor was scott robertson, and he pushed for originality pretty hard. For some of the descriptions we had the opportunity to invent supporting details. Such as the last piece...there was no description of the environment just a very vaquuuue description of a
"fast looking" ship....
