this is a portrait of the painter gerome set in his own arabian themes. this is in watercolors, 10.5 x 14 i think. i still have to work on the guns and the background. let me know if i need to make any adjustments, thanks!
ok, i am finished now...i think. i didnt add that much from the last shots.

davi, this looks great, I esp. like the background, the expression and the hair. However, I don't "understand" the way the hand/arm is holding the guns - or is it a sort of leather thingy?

Don't think he is holding the guns, more of a weird bag...
I like it though :)

:fruit: :flower: Great stuff daarken. Yeah my only critique would be that the bag doesn't read right and the pillar arch right above his head is a little skewed...that could just be me though...all in all a great painting man...and watercolor at that...bravo

yeah, its kinda confusing. if you look at any of geromes paintings he always has these arabians wearing these bag holster things with 2 flintlock pistols in them. hmm, the arch is a little wonky, but oh well...too late to fix it. thanks for pointing those things out. i also dont like how the doorway came out...its the big red thing on the left. very hard to understand what it is. i should have changed it.
