I know super sculpey can be baked multiple times but if I were to bake it two or three times for just 10-15 minuets to stiffen up some of her joints and what not for easier sculpting would it have any impact on the thicker clay when I go to bake it for 30-45 minuets (the final bake)? Will it still be able to bake all the way through?

Secondly, this sculpture stands about 11” tall and uses about a pound + of clay and will have some thin areas such as wings a dress and some pointy things, what is the recommended temperature and time for baking?
EDIT: This is a mix of 1lb super sculpey and 2oz Premo clay,
I see that some use a lower temp and increase the time, just thought this might be the best approach.

In my experience polymer clay is fine with series baking, but I usually put it in for a max. of 8 minutes per bake. 10+ minutes is too long IMO if you're doing series baking. With my last sculpt I baked it about 5-6 times including adding limbs and repairs, and it was baked all the way through, but mine was only about 8.5" tall and probably on a smaller scale. The best way to find out for sure is to try it yourself or experiment with some scrap clay and see what happens.

If you just want to stiffen the clay up a bit so the details don't melt while you're working the clay you can use an embossing gun or a heat gun, just make sure you hold it far enough away from the clay so it doesn't get shiny.

Cheers,
