Hope this doesn't breach anything at conceptart, here's a 3d piece

I'm not really sure if this is a good character or should I just throw him away...heh I guess if I'm wondering he's probably not up to par to what I should be going for...

anyway here he is

4420 poly

He's supposed to a bit like the soliders from the Disney Atlantis movie and Casey Jones from TMNT. Gas masked Warriorhttp://pub6.picturehost.co.uk/robo.jpg

let me know if he's worth working on, or should i just move on

...I dunno, I'd say that much purple is a clear breach of rule 7 ;)

Seriously I can see your intention with the B/G colour, but it really distracts from the character IMO.

I can't see his face very well, but he looks like he could be quite a character: maybe you should do a clearer render of his head?, since his face looks like it's very well articulated.

saturnfive-hey thanks for the feedback :-) I'll post up an image of his head right here. Just curious, after reviewing your site due to curiousity sake...When you show off a modeled piece do you generally show the sketch as well with the finished product or upon request?

Do you mean for forum crits?, or for interviews or something?. Well I've only worked on mods so far, and am focussing on environments, but I'd say if you have a sketch post it :)

A concept sketch is definitely going to help people assess your work better: a) your ability with traditional art and observational skills, b) your ability to translate concept into model and c) it reinforces the fact that you can come up with these ideas; which means you'd be less reliant on other people in a 'pipeline' situation.

He looks really nice close up..kind of regal some how, I like the way the backward tilt of the head gives him a slightly arrogant look : what's he for?

the renders of the head make it look much nicer than in your original montage... would you mind doing some clean renders on gray again for the body?

i say this because, while the head looks pretty cool (nice design, esp the hair), there are some funny things with the body that i'm not sure about...

lookin' good
