Newborns...........(other pics at my site if interested in seeing other angles) I decided to go with more imaginary creatures this time. I did a couple of real animals, so I went back to my roots this time. (meaning I originally started with the imaginary) COMMENTS?

SCAVENGER ALIEN (HEAD MAQUETTE) -This creature uses it's claw-like face to tear into a rotting carcass by thrashing it's head side to side and up and down. Then it can easily use it's beak to grab the loose flesh.

SORROWFUL ALIEN BEING (BUST) -I was feeling a bit depressed while making this one.......I think it shows. The corset-like restraints help depict the feeling of struggling I've been having as of late with my work (sculpting). Plus, with my back problems I've been feeling held back as well (in life). I'm sure people can relate in other ways to this creature. (At least sometimes)

Btw, do you paint your sculptures too?

When I'm about mid-way through a sculpt, I really get the itch to start the painting process. Instead, I just start to think of the color scheme I want on the sculpture while I'm actually finishing sculpting.

Anywho, if you want/need any pointers on painting, let me know man. I'll be glad to help you where I can.

The wooden disk I sculpt them on is about 5 inches in diameter. That should give ya a rough idea of how big my Sculpts are.

Wow that first one is killer! I'm about to have a boy... I hope he looks like that!!!

I love maquettes especially when you can offset the base color with little touches of local color (the eye). Great stuff!

Wow supersculpy? WOW!!

Battlemonkey- Thanks man. I've been really workin' at bringing my Sculps to life more with better detail. Also by trying to bring out character in the faces.

By the way.....have you been to my site lately?

Hahaha no, it's just the head of the creature.(Scavenger);)
