just thought i should intro myself before actually posting anything....
well..umm hi...
i just came across this forum while browsing through google.....=P
and it inspired me to want to draw. Although i've always taken a interest in drawing i'm more of a anime/ manga styled artist. So i'd thought i'll try something more realistic.
hopefully i'll get to post some images up! and get some constructive critisim!

Welcome to the forum. Look around for the tutorials that are here and check those out. They are very good, done by some cool professionals. Then try your drawings out in the foundations forum and see what people think. Good luck, glad you were inspired to draw.

Welcome to CA!
Draw whenever you get a chance, but don't be in a hurry to post some work for us to see, except of course, for the Speedpainting Thread. That's not the purpose here.
If you just upload something you quickly did, the response will not be real warm. Posting here is kind of like some of the rides at amusement parks with the "You must be at least this tall" signs.
Your art should display that you know, not that you have mastered, the basics of anatomy proportion (the muscles don't have to be perfect, but the arms should be the right length for the body, the feet shaped/angled to support the character, etc.), value/contrast (highlights, lightsource, shadows), and line/detail (background, foreground, texture). That is just to be on an even starting point of basic art knowledge.
If you don't know anything about some of these terms, do a web search, or read some art books, and learn. The knowledge is already out there, so few here will be inclined to tutor you on what you need to know. All we can do is help you hone your eye and your hand in executing these skills.

Keep looking around the forum and reading, and draw everything around you as well as what you dream up in your mind. Try to take enough time to make it understandable to anyone looking at it with little to no explanation necessary.
Hope you enjoy your stay here!
