wow you really took long man....
anyway, some edges look a bit flat, eg the left arm. maybe you could add some highlights to the silouette since the light is coming from the wings.
the belt is quite nice really has a metallic feel. but again perhaps the highlights should be near the back. :)
overall the painting is ok except maybe the lighting could use some improvement.:D

the bridge of the nose needs more refining, and the left hand looks really flat...like the bg and the wings though

This is an interesting image, but it needs some corrections, I think.
The right arm position doesn't work correctly im space for his hand to hold the sword. With a sword at his side, the arm should bend behind him, whereas yours is in front. The upper arm should go back instead of forward as you have it. Act it out yourself, and I think you'll see what I mean.
The helmet sits a bit oddly on his head, also. He's facing a bit to the right, but the helmet seems turned to the left. Perhaps if you only saw the inside of the faceplate, it would look better?
The wing looks a bit flat and could use some definition. The ghostly smearing you're using is an interesting effect. Also, shouldn't he have 2 wings? If the other is hidden by his head, it should also have the ghostly effect, no?
The background doesn't do much for me. It looks like he's next to a big piece of fabric. I'd also recommend rough up the rock texture some more.
Hope I didn't pick it apart too much. It's a promising image, so let us know how it all comes out.

great start, i guess i'm kind of in your shoes, painting on the computer isnt as easy as it seems... try using different brushes, the whole piece looks as if u just used the 'airbrush' tool. on the rock u can tell you used a different brush, and the rook looks great because of that. another thing that bothers me is the sword, the lower portion is great, but where the hilt comest into the hand, it does not look like the sword at all, as if he's holding on to something else. great start man, hope all of our comments are taken in with good intentions.

Nice painting...but there are some anatomic issues.
The hands look very small...and the head look off...anyway...
looks cool

very useful suggestions and crits guys. Thx. For the anatomic mistakes, guess its because i did not use any references and i'm not good enough to draw purely out of imagination...

i'd have to agree with the comments the rest of the forum has made. the character's right hand and the sword bothers me the most. if you could work on the depth as suggested, this could be a strong piece. good start though.

very strange? at first glance the hands look almost photo realistic, but then seem to not fit in with his arms>?
on another note, good boot!
