Very cool mitch! The hair looks awesome.

It would be cool if you drew another piece that takes place 5 seconds later with the giant killer dead between the giants teeth, with a thought bubble above the giants head saying "Stupid giant killer".

or something.:D

heyo. this is pretty cool but i had a hard time reading it i thought it was supposed two pictures composited together but if i were you i would try to make somekind of overlapping or make a more intense sense of atmospheric perspective. ithink the head reads really well because the details in the hair show scale but the chest has alot of contrast and therefore pops out at more than the rest

Dude this is AWESOME! I love the concept and you pulled it off really well. You really set up this illustration really well. Awesome work man. I'm dying to see him stab that giant. A lot of suspense is bound up in this image...nice work man.

Thanks guys, what an emotional past few days this has been. In my desperate attempt to finish my last gig before this war thingy starts, I have been drawing like I wont be able to again. maybe this is my lesson.

Hey 'good war. I struggled w/ these same thoughts. It's sort of an optical illusion and could be read incorrectly, but I wanted it to be as dynamic as possible. I'll post some sketches to show some of my thought processes before settling on this. It boiled down to having to crop in very close which eliminated alot of the elements that made the message more clear (clearer?).

thanx again, you guys rock!

awesome, I love this one, I think the only crit I could offer would be maybe to give the giant killer some hair streaming back behind him, this would enhance his movement and at the momen it's a little unclear whether he is wearing a helmet or bald.

All in all though a geat piece :)

This is a great image.

Maybe in coloring it you could throw the swordsmens shdow across the giants body to help place him in space if you think you need to emphasize that.

I think it works fine the way it is.

I think my favorite part is were the skin bunches up on the giants side. Just some folds of skin. nice touch.

When I first saw this I thought "Body Piecer to the Giants!" cause hes headed straight for the giants nipple! jus kidding.

Great Work man!

I feel really inspired by this. I know, hard to believe. x.x I'm envious of your amazing grasp of the male anatomy. Something I have a lot of troubles with. Very nice with the position. I find it amazing how you get such a beautiful drawing from those sketches. ^^ Good job!

Thanks alot everyone.

LeeSmith> He's bald. He had to be. That was part of the Art director's description. It would have looked cooler with it.
thx

davi> I love pencil. the pencil stuff of all the greats to me are better than the paintings, just my personal prefs. Thanks

Tanika> it's all about practice. It took me 34 years to get this far and I'm no where close to what I want to be. hang in there. Hopefully it won't take you as long
:)

I'm glad you all like this piece it was alot of fun to do!

Thanks

VERY NICE!!!
The number of things that happen in an instant in time is something most people never have to comprehend. Looking at your drawing shows me your attention to these critical factors. You have a keen eye.
